Artist Statement

Creating mixed media abstract art has always been a passion of mine. I start with a blank canvas and an open mind, allowing inspiration to guide my hand. The first layer of paint is always an exhilarating moment, as it sets the stage for the entire piece. The thick, luscious paint waits patiently for my creative impulses to take shape. Each brushstroke builds upon the last, forming a foundation of layers that give depth and complexity to the artwork.

The layers of paint along with the textures I apply begin to seemingly come to life. I begin starting, stopping, walking away and coming back. The new idea comes again as I return for another layer. The process is long; however, the results are worth waiting for.
I want this feeling to be reflective in every piece I create.

As I move forward with my next ideas, I always consider what natures has offered us in terms of beauty and culture. The world gives us such wonderful ideas, to put them on canvas is a gift, and to share them with you is my pleasure.
