Biography

From her early calligraphy activities, through two-dimensional works and installation exhibitions, she expanded her activities to Florence, Italy in the 2000s. Her works have diversified, including using aluminum polypropylene sheets as materials,

Artist Statement

In 2007, a Florentine art critic described my work as follows:

"Japanese artist Miya Ozaki continues to study Nagarjuna's theory of emptiness and the eight negations, exploring the assertions of 'non-existence or not non-existence', 'not the same, not difference', and these ideas form the core of her creative expression.
Thanks to her sensibility, we are able to thoroughly explore the meaning of 'shape?'

The main focus is on the beauty of atmosphere, expressing an abstract dimension reminiscent of nature through prints, dropping and stratifications, introducing a pictorial value rare in our culture to the absolute relationship between black and white, defining a scheme that becomes a magical, fluid and pulsating substance, like the flow of water or the transparency of mist “
I appreciate for her sensitivity.

The Non-existence and Non non-existence series, Miya, 2024, Mixed media on canvas, 59.5x29.5x4.0cm.

And just as it is said that a purple cloud appears in the distance after a person has taken the opportunity to depart, I too hope to be guided by an invisible hand to depart on a certain dimension. My daily creative work is part of that process.
