Artist Statement
My work radiates empethatic observation of vulnerability: an insect, an half decomposed leaf or an old weathered wall. I keep searching for the narrow path between melancholy and optimism. Melancholy because deterioration is inevitable, optimism as life is irresistable.
La maison blanche, 2015, acrylic on canvas, 100 x 100 cmanvas
My paintings refer to reality, but they are not meant to be exact. Rather, the paintings represent themselves. They express the mere love for life which I have experienced during my observations. I use color arrangement, positioning of lines and surface texture.
